Choosing floor material for home and interior design

Je Ne Regrette RienWe use home floor to put a lot of things and do variety of activities, placing chair and tables, cupboards, and so forth. Floor is used for walking, children running, sitting on floor, and other activities. Wheight that is received by the floor, sometimes quite heavy, such as when we move heavy objects, such as heavy cupboard by dragging it.


There are types of floors that can not be burdened by heavy objects, for example; brick floor, paving block floor, wood floor and so forth. Each material that is used will determine what kind of activities can be done over it. On the other hand, types of activities that may be done above the floor is the main consideration when choosing floor material. Types of materials varies from very hard one such as ceramics, concrete, rock, and the soft or easily broken, such as vinyl, brick, carpet, and so forth.

Floor material that is commonly used is ceramic, tile, parquet, and hard wood such as teak. Concrete and parquet manufacturer has produce material that is hard enough for flooring. This kind of hard floors can be used to place heavy objects over it. With layer of hard materials such as ceramics, it is good enough for home use and is the most often used option, because the surface is hard, and easily cleaned. Ceramics currently present with various motifs and colors that will enrich your interior design.

Wood floor type will be very natural because it reminds us of the natural trees in the forest. From various types of wood, Rosewood and Teak are wood names that is not foreign to our ears and having reputation of high resilience against termites and fungi. Wood are usually coated to strenghten its texture. Processed and laminated wood such as composite wood can be obtained with interesting textures as well.

Concrete or paving blocks are normally used for carport, garage and garden. Concrete is very strong and durable, with various forms of chips, such as rectangular, similar to combined puzzle parts, paving blocks with holes, and so forth. Concrete floors or blocks are also good without being painted, because it has its distinctive aesthetic character.

If we choose fragile material, for instance brick, then try not to burden it with heavy objects such as furniture. Materials such as bricks can be used without cement so that it will be easily changed when broken, or by using good quality bricks and stronger it with strong cement joints. Brick flooring may add aesthetic in our home and bring natural ambience.

Carpet material usually used above floor and usually being the cover of other material such as ceramics, wood flooring, and so forth. Carpet is suitable for dry spaces such as bedrooms to add the sense of 'warmness'. However, this material requires high maintenance because it can catch dust.
