Psychological aspect of color application in interior design

Color is one of the very important element in interior and home design, beside space, furniture, and accessories. Colors layout in our interior room should be arranged to gain the best impact of color use, and we can do it based on color scheme.

The followings are some color applications in interior room:

- Application of white: White could be combined with various colors. Do not leave white stand on its own. This will make the room too light and pale. If you want to make a warm space, combine white with bright colors, such as red, yellow, or orange.

- Applications of black: Black may enhance the limit of a room. So, apply black color as accents of your interior design. For example, as the color of furnitures, equipments, electronic picture frames, or wall clock.

- Applications of red: For all rooms. The most important thing to note is the selection of tone and the size of your room. Red color may give effects of more closely, that a room may be felt more narrow. Red will appear to be special if combined with colors that are not obvious, such as beige, white, yellow, or blue.

- Applications of yellow: Yellow is strong, and not good to be used as the main color for bedrooms. Yellow should be used in creative spaces, for instance the Foyer. You can integrate yellow with warm colors or cold ones, such as red or green.

- Applications of green: Green can be used to gain the feeling of relaxation. For the public areas of our society, soft green is widely used, like in hospitals. Avoid blending with blue color because of one another will appear to be darker.

- Applications of blue: Use blue in working room for adults and bathroom. It is also a preference to use blue color for the boys' room. combined with white or yellow, blue will enhance a positive energy.
