Posters can be preserved in special holders or framed in plexiglass so that they do not curl at the edges. Balance them by sizes, subject or color, or use them rather like wallpaper on an all-white wall, filling if not all the space, enough to cover up the large blankness. Blow-ups of photographs come into much the same category, and used in careful sequence can be treated like a mural, or scenic wallpaper. Anything likely to be ephemeral can be stuck up with adhesive which does not mark walls.
Most artwork looks best hung on dark walls, though it adds a particular vivacity to white walls, particularly if colors are clear. If a wall is strongly patterned it is best to mount prints and drawings on very deep matts of toning, or handsomely contrasting colors to the background; the subject is then becalmed in an area of its own rather than being lost in the overall design.
